A Day at ADVAC, Annecy

In May, I spent a wonderful day at the Fondation Mérieux in Annecy. I had the opportunity to sit in on several of the presentations and workshops, which really brought home the breadth and depth of this remarkable vaccinology training programme.

The highlight was meeting our sponsored candidate, Dr Melkamu Ayalew, and learning more about his background and his work in Ethiopia. We shared a lovely lunch together with Dr Senouci, the course director, Angus Thomson, a course speaker and a great friend of Mike's, and Sakurako Marchand from the Fondation Mérieux.

It was a privilege to see, first-hand, the impact this programme is having and the calibre of people it brings together.
