About

Mike was a wonderful man.  After studying at Rugby School, he went to Birmingham University Medical School.  There his interest in infectious diseases started with an elective in Sierra Leone.

After 5 years in UK hospital medicine, Mike moved into pharmaceutical medicine working for Bristol Myers Squib, Takeda, Sanofi Pasteur, Moderna, and, at the time of his death, start-ups Vaxequity and Mevox. During these years, he worked with novel platforms and technologies including the development of Gardasil, national and global vaccination innovation with Pediacel and polio eradication. He also contributed to the development of the mRNA vaccine platform and COVID vaccine.

Alongside his career, Mike was a wonderful husband, and father to Evie and Oliver.  A man full of fun, passion and enthusiasm for any and everything.  He was a great friend with the ability to make people smile and feel that they truly mattered to him.

He is so missed by so many.
