I can’t think of a better way to start this story than with a huge, heartfelt thank you to the Mike Watson Fellowship. Their support opened the door for me to attend the Advanced Course of Vaccinology (ADVAC)—an experience that has truly been a highlight of my professional journey. Even more special, I am incredibly proud to be the very first participant from Georgia, representing my country in a gathering of the world’s brightest minds in vaccinology!
Imagine a place so beautiful it feels like a hidden paradise—Annecy, with its crystal-clear lake and breathtaking mountain views, was the perfect backdrop for two weeks of intense learning and inspiration. From the moment I arrived, I knew this was going to be something extraordinary. ADVAC was everything I could have dreamed of—and more. The curriculum was so comprehensive, it covered every aspect of vaccinology I could possibly imagine: from the science of vaccine development to the complexities of global immunization strategies. Every session left me inspired and eager to learn more.
What truly set ADVAC apart were the people. The speakers weren’t just experts; they were the very leaders shaping the future of vaccines—people whose work I’ve admired for years. Listening to their stories and insights was both humbling and incredibly motivating. But the participants were just as impressive! Our group was a vibrant tapestry of cultures, backgrounds, and professional experiences. From academia, industry, and international organizations, every conversation was a chance to learn something new. I felt honored to be part of such a diverse and dynamic community. The level of planning and organization was simply flawless. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, making it easy for us to focus on what mattered most: learning, sharing, and connecting.
Participating in ADVAC has filled me with new energy and motivation. Hearing directly from the world’s most successful professionals in vaccinology has inspired me to aim higher, dream bigger, and bring what I’ve learned back to Georgia. I’m excited to share these lessons and, hopefully, inspire others to follow in these footsteps.
